Why Coaching?

    Who Needs A Coach?

Why would anyone, except maybe an athlete, need a coach? coach4blogpost

    Good question.

Truth is, that even though it’s not obvious to many people, everyone can benefit from coaching. These days, there are many skilled people offering to teach you their hard won expertise – expertise that has generally taken many years (and dollars) to accumulate.  The phenomenon of YouTube stands as a monumental testament to the value of having access to someone’s actual experience.  It is much easier and quicker to watch an experienced person demonstrate something on a video, than it is to pour over books or endless pages of detailed instructions, which all-too-often…are quite poorly written.

A coach puts you in a great position.  You can avail yourself of all that expertise, for very little time and money invested on your part.  All you need to do is see the value of tapping into what you couldn’t realistically accumulate for yourself (you may lack the time…or the money…or even the capability to do all those years of training or research). coach4blogpost8 But a coach can impart to you all the wisdom that comes from having done those years of training, research or education.  In short, they have made all the mistakes—so you don’t have to.

But probably the biggest reason you should get a coach…is so that you can become a better person.  As you get better at whatever it is that you do, you become a much better person—especially if you have found a good coach.  The quality of the people who are contributing to your life improves the quality of your life…so it makes sense to seek out quality people and improve your capabilities.  Two heads really are better than one when you are struggling to make sense of something—especially if one of those heads is an expert on the subject you are grappling with! coach4blogpost7 There is a reason that migrant children tend to outperform our own kids at schools all around the country…their parents come from cultures where coaching and tutoring are highly valued.  Solutions come much easier to people who have had coaching in exactly what, how and why to practice!  Teaching people how to become part of the solution rather than part of the problem is all in a days work for a good coach!

    • Do you want to be a better student with higher grades?  Get a coach.
    • Do you want to be a better communicator with superior interpersonal skills?  Get a coach.
    • Do you want to be a better friend, spouse, or parent who is listened to and valued?  Get a coach.

A good coach is there for you whenever you need answers to specific questions … and if you find an exceptionally good coach, you will find that they have already read all the books worth reading coach4blogpost9on the subject you are trying to improve in.  And they will have compiled excellent summaries that make it very easy for you to tap into their knowledge.  Plus, they will also have worked at it for years…ensuring that they actually have practical skill…and not just theory that doesn’t really work in practice.

PricelessThe value of having a coach really can be priceless…especially when you consider that the cost of not honing your skill set, in a highly competitive world, can be devastating.  On the professional front, try being employed without getting better at your job – retrenchment is often the outcome.  On the personal front, try being married without learning how to become a better spouse – divorce is often the outcome.  Try raising kids without learning how to be a better parent – juvenile delinquents are often the outcome.  Finding a good coach can save you a great deal of time, effort and even heartache—LifeChangingEventso why not look into becoming a better person today—everyone you know will really notice and appreciate your new-found skills.  Coaching really can make a HUGE difference to your life – but only if you choose to make that all-important first step – and book a session that will literally change your life.
